How were Baby Crawlers™ born?

Well, I’m a mom; I guess that explains a lot. When my baby started crawling, at about 8 months of age, I found myself wishing I could find a way to avoid the bruised knees she kept having. She was a very energetic crawler, and the bruising was inevitable, unless… And that’s how the idea of the baby crawling pants was born. Baby Crawlers™ aren’t intended to facilitate crawling, but to protect the baby’s knees from the impact of crawling by adding cushioning to the knee area on these specially designed pants. We created the pants to be easy to care for, easy to wear, just like any other baby pants, but more durable. We purposely avoided non-skid material on the knees, to allow for some sliding, a natural part of the crawling motion—this is important on both hard surfaces and carpeting. The padding (100% polyester) is not too bulky, so the baby doesn’t have to lift its legs more than naturally necessary and has freedom of movement. The padding is sewn-in, not removable, and washable, so the pants don’t require any special care. Baby Crawlers™ pants are designed so that there’s room for growth in relation to the size of the padding area, which is large enough so it covers the knee portion for as long as the rest of the pants fit the baby. In addition to protecting the baby’s knees, the padding will double as reinforcement of the knee area, which takes a lot of wear during the crawling period in baby’s life.
